Red Ribbon Week 2011

Local Businesses, Churches and Community Groups...WE NEED YOU!!!

Red Ribbon Week Spaulding High

2010 Red Ribbon Week at Spaulding High School. Over 400 students filed onto the football field to form a giant red ribbon.

Red Ribbon Week is October 23 - 30. This is a nationally recognized week which promotes a drug free community and school through raising awareness about the dangers of drugs and underage alcohol use. Each year, Bridging the Gaps Coalition joins with the Rochester School District to bring awareness to our youth through the schools. This year we would like to expand our collaborations by partnering with community businesses, churches and organizations to send a unified message to Rochester youth that we care about them and want them to be Drug Free.

We would like to invite you to join us in promoting a DRUG FREE community and celebrating Red Ribbon Week.

There are 3 easy ways you can join us.

1. Hang a Red Ribbon on your door or in your store front window for the week. We will provide the Ribbon

2.  If you have an outside billboard/letter board, display one of the following messages for the week.

  • Red Ribbon Week 2011 – Our Youth Matter, Be DRUG FREE
  • Our Youth Matter, Be DRUG FREE
  • Be DRUG FREE

3.  Sign up to provide a small discount at your business for any middle school or high school student who signs the pledge to be drug free. We will be printing an "I signed the Pledge Card” with detachable one time use coupons and passing them out when a student signs a banner pledging to be Drug Free. Please note: You decide the discount and the card/coupon will specify that it is only good from November 1 - December 31, 2011.
