You matter too

As a parent or caregiver, much of your emotional time and energy is spent doing just that: care GIVING. Please remember it is equally important that you take care of yourself as well. It is important to carve out time for YOU to unwind and recharge. "Time, what time?” you may be saying to yourself. Remember to put self-care on the "to- do” list. You are also a priority. When you have had the ability to relax for a few moments, you are better equipped to continue to give your kids the support they need.

Self Care Ideas:

  • Exercise
  • Yoga
  • Meditation
  • Gathering with friends
  • Join a support group
  • Alcoholics Anonymous
  • Find a supportive counselor
  • Ask your family physician for a referral
